BarnOwl was proud to sponsor at this year’s IMFO Audit and Risk Indaba. The annual 3-day event, which took place from the 20th April to the 23rd of April was held at The Olive Convention Centre in Durban KwaZulu Natal. The theme was “Back to Basics: Audit, Risk, and Performance & Governance – The ABC of Clean Administration”.

The Official Opener was Cllr James Nxumalo: Executive Mayor, Ethekweni Metropolitan Municipality. To name a few, the speakers included the likes of Ernie Tema from Limpopo Treasury; Andre Nel: Chief Audit Executive of North West Treasury; Lungelwa Dlulisa from SALGA and our very own Jonathan Crisp from BarnOwl.

The Audit & Risk Indaba is an annual congregation of Finance, Audit and Risk Management Practitioners in South Africa meant to promote the Audit and Risk Management function in the public sector.

The event draws participants from municipalities in all the country’s provinces, and is attended by senior municipal personnel, and councillors involved in Municipal Audit & Risk Management. More than 400 officials attend the event every year!

It was great to catch up with many of our clients as well as meet many new people. BarnOwl was also privileged to sponsor the break-away track on ‘Unpacking ABC of Clean Administration: Back to Basics through Governance’ and to be part of the lively panel discussion with our esteemed colleagues.
